Student's Hostel della Ghiara is located in the heart of the Reggio Emilia city centre, in the additional building of Basilica della Beata Vergine della Ghiara.

The Basilica is well known for its frescoes and altar pieces painted by the best 17th century Emilian artists such as Carracci, Gianfrancesco Barbieri (the Guercino), Lionello Spada, Alessandro Tiarini, Carlo Bonomi and Luca Ferrari.

Besides artistic testimonies, the Basilica has a particular aspect: the top of the dome is adorned with a golden globe with a cross containing messages citizens wrote for posterity half century before.

Many of the most important museums and monuments are located few hundred meters away from the Hostel. 

Student's Hostel della Ghiara welcomes travellers from all over the world and is particularly popular with school and group trips.

Open all year long, it has total capacity of 100 bed in 24 rooms divided into private en suite and private room with shared toilet.

The building was restructured in 2000 and offers modern facilities , meeting rooms and free wi fi to all guests.
